About Me

Part strategist, part mad scientist. Always testing, always tinkering.

I'm Kyle Puckett, an SEO and digital marketing professional based in Lafayette, Indiana. For about ten years I've been running experiments in search, analytics, and AI, testing what actually moves the needle instead of just what's trendy, and I still enjoy it as much as when I started.

Background

SEO is about more than rankings

~10 years

My background covers SEO strategy, technical SEO, content strategy, analytics, website migrations, AI-assisted workflows, conversion optimization, and site architecture. I currently work at the SEO Manager level, helping educational brands improve organic visibility, strengthen website structure, and turn search traffic into measurable business growth.

What keeps me interested is what sits underneath the rankings: what people are actually searching for, whether the content genuinely answers their question, and whether the site makes it easy to act. The best results show up where technical improvements, thoughtful content, and better user experiences come together.

I enjoy complicated problems. Diagnosing a technical SEO issue, planning site architecture, improving a user journey, or working AI into a marketing workflow all come down to the same thing: understanding how a system works and finding a practical way to improve it.

Teaching

Helping others get comfortable with technology

One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been teaching. I've trained real estate professionals and business users on websites, CRM systems, marketing platforms, analytics tools, and emerging technology.

I like taking a subject that feels intimidating and breaking it into clear, actionable steps. Watching someone go from avoiding a tool to confidently using it in their business never gets old.

Creative Side

Analytical by nature, creative by choice

Outside of strategy work, I'm drawn to videography, web design, visual communication, and storytelling. I don't see SEO, websites, video, design, AI, and content as separate disciplines. They're all parts of one cohesive digital experience.

Videography

Planning, pacing, and telling a story visually.

Web experiences

Layout, messaging, and user experience that helps people accomplish what they came to do.

Practical AI

Real applications over trends, workflows that actually save time.

Building things

A website, a video, a workflow, or just a better way to solve a problem.

Off the Clock

Husband, dad of three, and always learning

My family is my greatest motivation and the reason I keep working to improve, personally and professionally. I value integrity, reliability, and building a stable future for the people I love.

Outside of work you'll find us hiking, swimming, at an amusement park or museum, or exploring somewhere new. On my own time I'm usually working on a video project, experimenting with new technology, or learning something just because it's interesting.

A few useful answers

Are you looking for a full-time role, freelance work, or both?

I'm currently an SEO Manager and open to hearing about the right opportunity, whether that's a full-time role, an advisory conversation, or a focused project. I'd rather have an honest conversation about fit than chase everything that comes along.

What size company or team do you work best with?

I've spent my career inside larger organizations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, so I'm comfortable there. I'm just as interested in smaller teams where I can get closer to the work and see decisions move faster.

I'm not deep into SEO. Can you still explain your work to me?

Yes, and honestly I prefer it that way. Some of my favorite conversations have been with people outside marketing who just want to understand what's actually happening and why. If I can't explain it plainly, I probably don't understand it well enough myself.

Do you only work on SEO, or can you help with broader digital strategy?

SEO is where I spend most of my time, but it rarely stays in its own lane. I regularly end up in conversations about analytics, content, AI workflows, and the website itself, because that's usually where the real problem is hiding.

What's the best way to start a conversation with you?

Just reach out and tell me what you're working on. I don't need a formal pitch, a quick note about the problem you're trying to solve is enough for me to know if I can be helpful.

Let's build something useful

If you're interested in SEO leadership, digital strategy, AI-enabled marketing, education, videography, or anywhere technology and creativity intersect, I'd enjoy the conversation.
